Welcome back to the Readings by SunChariot newsletter!

Yay, It's March. We've made it through the coldest month of the year (as least where I live) and are getting on to the warmer times again. March is the end of Daylight Saving Time over here as well, so longer days with more warmth and sunshine are on the way again. It's all good!

The past month has been good to me teaching me lots of life lessons. Of course, I am sure I could say that about any month and life is always so fascinating with so much to learn, But I do tend to be a bit better listener some months than others. LOL

This month's lessons for me personally have been mainly focused on learning to co-create what I want together in life/the universe. Honing what I thought I knew on that. I heard something on TV yesterday that really struck me. And when something hits me with that strong of a feeling, I know it means it is something I need to learn and master.

It said: " You have to take responsibility in life for everything you do, and also for everything that you don't do."

While in my life I tend to always do the first part, I'll admit I don't always pay too much attention to the second part. I can be a world class procrastinator in my personal life at times, when the mood strikes. But of course, every choice we make in life tends lead us somewhere. And choosing not to act, or to put things off is also a choice.

I have also been getting a number of messages lately saying that my life is working with me now to help me create what I want to, and that I just have to put in the effort on my end, and life/the Universe will look after the rest. Always nice to hear.

And the last thing happening over here that I wanted to talk about just now was about my upcoming Tarot book. It's still coming along slowly but surely.

At the moment,  I'm about 3/4 of the way through a chapter containing 21 original self-affirming Tarot spreads. I chose to have 21 as 21 for me in Tarot is the number related to all the best things that life has to offer. And I do wish that for all my readers.  So the spreads I have been writing are now about 3/4 of the way completed.

Right now I am looking for a few volunteer readers to help test out some of the spreads for me. I could really use some feedback.  Of course,. I only want the best of the spreads written  to make it into the book.

If you're interested, it's nothing complicated, just to tell me if they worked well for you and what you thought of them. You can choose to try as many or as few as you like, No obligation of course, except to keep the spreads just between us, as of course they are being written for a book that there will eventually be a charge for.

If you are interested in volunteering click here and let me know. And if so thank you.

Wishing you all the best this month again and again and  always,

Quote of the Month

"If you act lovingly, you will be acting naturally. If you react fearfully, resentfully, angrily, you may be acting normally, but you will never be acting naturally"

(Taken from Meditations from Conversations With God, the Kindle edition, by Neale Donald Walsch)

Just thought I would add in this particular quote this month as it`s something I personally believe in.

Tarot Demystified

Misunderstanding Tarot answers
(couldn't resist sticking this photo in, even though technically it's about a different kind of reading)

I thought this was in somewhat important topic, that I never really mentioned before. It felt like time this month. And the topic here this month i9s about how Tarot answers are interpreted after they are received. A reading is a partnership in a sense. A cooperation between two people, one who interprets what they see in the card. And the other who is interpreting what they see in the words of a reading

Here are some of the main places I see where things occasionally get confused and some tips I hope you will find helpful

  • Things can get confusing if the language/wording in the reading is unclear in some way or ambiguous. It happens on occasion, different people use language differently at times. If there is any question, the best way to solve that is to ask the reader what they meant. Any good reader will be more than open to that.
  • We tend to interpret things through our own belief systems. And it can be hard to see or believe something that does not fall into what we believe about  life or about ourselves.. I once had a brilliant reading done for me which the minute I read it I was certain it was all completely wrong about me. I even told the reader so. I put it down but reread if a number of times during the week, and suddenly I had a deep AHA moment. It was like Eureka, she had been SO right all along. Just couldn't believe it. And that does happen sometimes. What she told me about myself was so far removed from my beliefs about myself I could not accept it at first, and yet she had very much been right. Of course some readings really are just wrong, But not all that appear to be are. It can't hurt to look them over a few more times to be 100% sure.
  • Sometimes we tend to misunderstand the intended meaning of a reading because of our hopes and desires on the issue we asked about. They can become a bit like blinders that we wear at times.  I have actually seen this happen a number of times.  Where I have told someone a very positive outcome in a reading. And then they get back to me and tell me it was just as they believed and they knew nothing good would come of it. I then have to ask them what they saw in the reading that was negative and to tell them what it was I had really meant. This does happen, so if you're not 100% sure, it never hurts to ask and talk over the reading with the reader. A good reader will be open to discussing that things meant afterwards.
  • A big place of misunderstanding comes from readings about the future. Many people think that the future as predicted by the cards is set and cannot be changed. Almost nothing could be further from the truth and so many Tarot questions are about the future. I always tell anyone who asks a question about the future that the cards will only show one future amongst many, They can only show the exact future they are heading towards in the exact moment in time the reading was done. Nothing more. And that future can very much change and in fact usually they can purposely change it. I find it helps me make that all clear at the start.
  • Speaking of the future, another place where misunderstandings are quite common is when people project the present moment onto the future. One of the places this seem to happen most in my experience is when people ask the "What does he think about (or feel for) me right now?" questions. These are quite popular questions. I get asked them a lot. But by their very nature, they are only asking about this very moment now. What we think and feel can very well change. Moods change, we get new information that lets us see things differently. Eg the person may have been in a really bad mood at the moment the reading was done and not felt too positively about anything at that moment in time. And shortly later come out the other end and felt much more positively again about the other. What someone feels or thinks now may not be what they think or feel in the future. Thoughts flow in and out, feelings can be change.
  •  Sometimes people use readings just to try to confirm what they hope the answer will be, and they tend to not really hear well what is being said. They don't seem to really want to hear the truth, just confirmation of what they hope is true. They can see the answers all in  black and white, all yes or no and they really clearly never notice the nuances in between. They may see the answer they want to see when it's not clearly there. Or if it isn't there for sure (even if the cards say it will most likely happen),  If the answer is not YES for sure it will happen, they never see all the many positive and hopeful aspects to the reading, These are gifts to help them, but they get lost and all that matters is yes or no. Imo, readings can be used much more effectively to try to create what we want than to just see if it's coming. And that is comforting in itself, to feel there are things you can do to help improve your chances, instead of just leaving things up to fate.

Coming next month: Good readers vs bad readers (and warning signs of the latter)

 Asking about Life

This month, I've been thinking a lot about how we "attract" different outcomes to ourselves. Maybe some things that happen have nothing to do with us, but I believe a lot of it is affected by out thoughts, which affect our feelings which affect our actions (or lack of action) which affects outcome. Since this has been on my mind lately, I thought I would ask the cards about it here.

The deck I used to ask about this topic is the  Tarot of Reflections, by Francesco Ciampi.  I LOVE this deck and it just felt perfect to me here for this kind of question. The deck does show reflections in each image, as you will soon see. And the question I asked was in a sense about how the outcomes we get reflect the thoughts we have beforehand.

So I asked:  How do our thoughts actually affect the outcomes that come to us in our lives?

And the Tarot of Reflections said:

Card 1: 10 of Pentacles (reversed)

This seems like an obvious place to start. This card is from the suit of Pentacles, which for me is about the goals we set and the work we are willing to do to achieve those goals. Naturally enough, our thoughts play a huge part in that.  We set out goals by thinking them out. And also the goals we set will be influenced by the way we think. We are not likely to set a goal we do not believe is achievable. And how effectively we work on our goals also has a lot to do with our beliefs and the thoughts we tell ourselves.

This card is also a reversed 10. Which is about stopping to think over all that has happened in the past. And then about deciding whether  to continue doing things in the same way, or if it is better to change paths or to change the methods we are using.

The two taken together are talking about what happens when we are working on a goal and things do not seem to be working. The thoughts we have then may tell us to be persistent, or to change tactics (maybe to ask others for advice), or to give up. Naturally each of these can change the outcomes that come to us in our lives.

The image shows a home/castle with a bridge to the left hand side (representing the past). This says that the ways you learnt to think in the past affect the way you build the structures of your life in the present. The purples mountains say that the amount of healing wisdom you learnt in the past affects how lovingly you see the future, your thoughts about how lovingly/kindly you expect life to treat you

The castle image is reflected here in the sky. And this says that your thoughts as you set your life goals affect how large you dare to dream or if you think that dreaming large is just  "building castles in the sky".

Card 2: Knight of Chalices

This card is about your feelings. It's from the suit  of Chalices, called Cups in most decks. And it's the Knight, which is about imagining yourself in someone else's position. It's about how you imagine other people feel in the situations you find yourself in. What you think they would feel.

This card is saying that well, imagination is a useful thing in creating what you want in life.  And that yes it affects what comes to us. This card is saying that when we try to see through other people's eyes, we learn to see and think in new ways.

Using our empathy to feel how we might perceive things differently if we were in a completely different life situation or if we were someone else, can teach us to think in new ways and find new solutions to existing problems that we may never have thought of our own. We learn to think outside the box, the box of our own life experiences and life lessons. And it can open us to broader and a more diverse way of thinking about things. This is shown in the image in the person's hat (representing his way of thinking) that become broader as he imagines what it would feel like to be in someone else's situation or in different circumstances to his own.

And when we do that, we try different things and the results we get will naturally be different. The reflection shown to the right is smaller. This says that as we broaden the potential ways we can view things, our potential become larger in the future. It allows us to solve problems in new ways and to do more good in our lives in general.

Card 3: 10 of Wands

This card is the 10 of Wands, and it's about creating the most we can of our lives. In this question asked here it's also about which kinds of thoughts will allow us to best do this.

This is a very interesting part of the answer, in my eyes. The colour blue is related to the throat chakra for me, which is all about communication. But as you can see, the person the being here is talking to is an upside down version of himself. So what we are really talking about here in this card is about the thoughts (and the kinds of thoughts, words and language) you use when you talk to yourself (self-talk). Meaning how much respect you have for yourself inside you and how that comes out in your thoughts.

In this image, what is growing from this person's mind  (represented here by the hair growing from his head) is a bit messy and unruly. Not too well maintained or groomed. This person is facing left, and that relates to the past. And he is talking to an upside down version of himself.

All this says that sometimes, we pick up some ideas from the past about who and or what we are that are untrue. Sometimes we learn to talk to ourselves in the way that others spoke to us in the past. And sometimes who or what we think we are can be so far removed from the truth that we are almost seeing a reverse image of who we actually are. Some of these thoughts run a bit rampant at times and are and are not always under control.

The gist of this card is that the more the way you speak to yourself makes you feel "blue", the harder it is likely to be to achieve all that you can achieve. And conversely, the more you can let go or what you think you know and open your hands to receive new information, the more you are can learn that can help you achieve more and more.

The cape this figure is wearing says that most people have more power to create than they yet imagine.

Card 4: King of Chalices

And the last card in this reading is the King of Chalices. Chalices are about our feelings and emotions. And Kings are about self-mastery. Naturally here is  a direct correlation between our thoughts and our feelings. Our feelings stem from our thoughts. And the way we feel about things affects outcome.

The card shows a chalice on a pedestal. And the reflection here in this card is of two more chalices on pedestals. 3 is a number about kindness, caring, empathy, nurturing, taking good care of others, and growth. So these are the kinds of feelings we are talking about here in this card.

This card is saying that the best way to arrive at the best outcomes is to embody these feelings. And the best way to embody those feelings is to think thoughts along those lines.

If you think these values are important to you, put them on a pedestal, and focus on them, you will feel these ways more and more often. And this card is saying that the more you do, the easier what you want to achieve will come to you.

This card is talking about the present moment, the now. It says that if you keep yourself surrounded by kind, caring thoughts it will be easier to draw what you want to you,. Just focus on that, not on the outcome, Just have faith, be the best you you can be and the rest will take care of itself.  When you put the focus on embodying the positive caring values you take it off of the worrisome things and that helps a lot in getting to the outcome you most hope for.

March 2014 Friendship Reading

This month I used one of my very favorite all time decks for you, the A King's Journey Tarot. I adore the deck and can't say enough good things about it. It's was created by Chanel Bayless, who's a real sweetheart by the way. Artwork by James Battersby. Very beautiful deck that truly speaks to me.

All that out of the way LOL, the question I asked for you this month was what you need to know to make the most of March 2014. And here below is what the cards had to say for you about that:

Card 1: 2 of Wands

Love this image!  OK, to start with this card is about creating something together with someone else in your life. Could be about the relationship the two of you are creating together and how it is being created. OR the card could be about something else that you are creating together with someone else. (Wands are about creating for me, and the 2s are about the relationships between two people, for me).

Of course the main theme in this card image is one of a phoenix. I looked and found this about the phoenix on Wikipedia: "a long-lived bird that is cyclically regenerated or reborn. Associated with the sun a phoenix obtains new life by arising from the ashes of its predecessor."

To me this says the message here is about regeneration and rebirth. Relationships do go through phases and cycles. They have ups and downs, easier times and harder times., ebbs and flows...So the basic message for you from this card this month is about that. It's about regenerating any relationships that feel like they could use a touch of revamping in your life. About creating something more beautiful from what is now there (the ashes of what is currently there).

This is a spiritual message to me, as birds are about our spiritual sides for me. So the whole message here is about how to create a more spiritual connection with someone you are now creating/sharing a relationship with.

As for the rest of the image, there is a cave, whose access is shown a bit obstructed by flowing lava and the two crossed flaming Wands.  And inside is the beautiful pure flow of water, water representing our deepest emotions, that you want to reach in the other to forge/create a deeper connection.

This says that someone in the relationship, you/the other/.or you both. have some walls up making it harder for the other person to get to your true inner self. To create something deeper you need to  get there, to touch each other on that level. That is the challenge of this card, to get to that place in each other. This card is saying that maybe in the end, if you really tried, what is in the way is not really that difficult to bypass. The lava is not really flowing past the door to the cave, and you could do under the torches. So that getting closer is still very possible, says this card.

Card 2: 8 of Cups (reversed)

This, right here, is a very good card and a nice positive part of your answer. This card is a Cups card and it's all about your feelings and emotions. And it's a reversed 8. Which is very interesting to me personally as I just changed my meanings for reversed 8's the day before I did this reading. So this is the first reading I have done with my new meaning in tact. So thank you for giving me this chance. :-)

So it is about your feelings this month. And the reversed 8 is talking about that mysterious part of life that ensures that things would out for the best for us in the end, no matter what we say or do. Sometimes we all make our mistakes, but life somehow balances it all out in the end in our own best interest. That is what this card is about.

It says that one thing that you can do to make the most of this month of March is to allow and encourage yourself to feel inside that no matter what you say or do, in the end things will work out in your best interest. Allow and encourage your faith that life has your back.no matter what.
the image shows this as well. There you are in the image, scrambling to shore. Climbing over any difficult feelings in your path to get to where you want to go. Maybe some of those feelings needed to be upturned along your path, replaced with better ones for you. But in the end, as you can see, you will get to where you want to go. And all your work will bear fruit. And you will be able to reap what you sewed from the effort you put in.

So that is the message from this card. To have as much faith  as you can in the process. That you will get to the best place for you, no matter which mistakes you make along the way.  You don't have to be perfect, you just have to be in the game.

Card 3: Knight of Wands

This is a nice card here to me. :-)  It's again a Wands card, about how to create what you want this month in the best way. But this card is the Knight. And Knights, for me personally, are about taking a walk in someone else's shoes, imagining what it would be like to actually be them. Imagining what it would be like to think and feel as they do, to have their lives right now instead of yours and be in their place.

As for the card image. The Knight is facing left here, which is talking about the past. So this card says that to create what you want to in the best ways this month it would help you to think about the past. About how our past experiences affect who we become later on, About the effect our upbringings and environments have on us. And to respect the differences that naturally occur in people with very different backgrounds. And to respect other's right to be who they are just as you would want them to respect yours.

And to see that had you had their background you might be just as they are now. And how would you want to be treated if you were?

This card also encourages you to ask questions of others to get different viewpoints, to see how situations look from other people's eyes. And to see how that teaches you new ways to create what you want from life.

Card 4: flipped Queen of Spirit

This last card for you, was a flipped card. A flipped card, being one that flips out of the deck during shuffling. Flipped cards indicate messages that\ you are being asked to stop and think over. They say that if you do, you will see something more than you may not have noticed at first.

This card is from the suit of Spirit. The suit of Spirit is something unique and truly beautiful about this deck. Most decks have only 4 suits. But this one adds in a 5th, the suit of Spirit. It makes so much sense to me that I wish all decks had this. The suit of Spirit is, of course, about our souls/spirits and all things spiritual.

And this card is the Queen, the Queens for me are about sharing. About creating something together in connection with others. This message has a lot to do with the message of the first card as well, which was about creating a deeper more spiritual connection with others.

On it's own, this card is a reminder that we being with a soul. We are not just our bodies, we are not just our thoughts of feelings. But that there is something more to us. Something that can be touched to tears by a beautiful sunset or song. Something that lets us connect deeply enough to others that we can deeply feel for the tragedies of strangers. Something that connects us with the planet.. We are being with a soul/spirit. And this card is about that. About connecting to life with and through that part of us.

And about remembering that after all we are life. We are connected to the spiritual parts of life both when we choose to remember and when we choose to forget. And life is always what it is. And always ensures that things work out for the best in the end. Although when we forget the path may be longer to get here, as we sabotage ourselves a bit more and don't always make the best choices for us.

And if this is part of your belief system (if not feel free to ignore this part), there can also be the message here to remember that you are not alone. And that you are a co-creator of your life, and have help anytime you want and ask from something higher. And yes, that you are loved.
